Personally, I think raising the minimum wage is a bad idea. Even though it seems like people are making more money, in reality people will lose jobs so the companies don't go out of business. Many people think that raising the minimum wage will decrease poverty. A major reason why the minimum wage is not really an anti-poverty tool is that raising the minimum wage will cause businesses to reduce the number of workers they hire and the hours they ask their employees to work. According to Neumark et al :"The answer we obtain to the question of whether minimum wage increases reduce the proportion of poor and low-income families is a fairly resounding "no." The evidence on both family income distributions and changes in incomes experienced by families indicates that minimum wages raise the incomes of some poor families, but that their net effect is to increase the portion of families that are poor and near-poor." Another reason the minimum wage won't do anything is that most people that get minimum wage aren't in poverty. Also going back to people losing jobs, teenagers will take the place of adults because they will work for less because they don't need to support a family. According to Forbes, nothing will change for the highly skilled workers, the middle class workers will be ok, and the low class workers will be the ones losing jobs.

Lemonade Stand
The perishable items in the game were the lemons, ice, and sugar. The ice always melted and the lemons and sugar could just go bad. The one constant was the cups. The variables were the weather and the amount of people that went by. Also the cost of the supplies would change. The only thing I got from the game was that you could make more money if it was hotter outside.
20% October
Me and Ty decided to switch our project from preventing jam injuries to some sort of discount/free day at sleeping giant. Technically we have not accomplished our goal because we switched. We are going to get ahold of somebody at sleeping giant and try to arrange a free rental day or a reduced ticket price, or something like that. Our biggest problem is going to be having them take a chance because they could lose money if it didn't work. By the end of the month I want to get ahold of somebody and get an answer.

Blackjack
Yesterday we played blackjack. Everyone sat around the table and half of us didn't know to play. The only way I knew to play was to get closest to 21. I did decent but ended losing all of my chips because I wanted to beat Ty.

The first thing that happened when we walked in, I noticed that the lights were off, there was many videos playing loud, and there was candy and Monopoly money all over the floor. It was hectic because everyone was running around picking up money and candy off of the floor and tables. After everything was picked up we stopped looking for stuff and trading was opened. There was prices written on the walls and you had to trade and sell candy with people to hopefully make money. People were teaming up and there was different tactics. Some people just stocked up on candy and some people sold all of their candy and just kept money. During this whole thing the lights were off and there was videos playing loudly to make it seem realistic. After the whole thing everyone counted up their money and we found a winner.

20%
The project that me and Ty are doing is, how to prevent jam injuries in football or other ball type sports. During the month of September we have gone over what we are going to use, whether that be a new type of glove or a new way to catch the ball or so,etching like that. For the month of October we want to either have a prototype of a new glove or found a way to prevent the injury.

After high school I plan to go to a four year college preferably in Washington. During college I will probably work part and parents would partially help me out. For my car I would like a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS. I would use that because it is my current car now. I would want to live in Washington because I lived there for 13 years. The average cost of rent is between 900-2000$ depending in size. I learned that college will be expensive and I might not be able to go to the school I want to.
